Jason Beckman leads Shelby back to Class C regional finals with 37 points in regional semifinal win over Lakeview

Shelby is making a return trip to the Class C regional finals as they defeated Lakeview 80-72 on Monday night in the regional semifinals at Montabella High School.

The Tigers will face Pewamo-Westphalia in Wednesday’s regional title game at 7 p.m.

The Tiger return to the regional finals a year after losing to Maple City Glen Lake 64-62 in the regional title game.

Jason Beckman scored 37 points to lead the Tigers against Lakeview on Monday night.

The Tigers led 37-30 at halftime and 49-45 entering the final quarter.

The team combined for 58 fourth-quarter points with Shelby outscoring Lakeview 31-27 in the final quarter.

Andrew Beckman chipped in with 19 points for Shelby.

Nate Shurlow led Lakeview with 24 points and Shawn Lindsey added 20.
