Fruitport’s Alex Brown stole home to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning and Kyle Fialek’s RBI ground out plated the winning run in the top of the eighth inning as the Trojans beat host North Muskegon 6-5 Monday in a non-conference baseball game.

Fruitport’s Austin Curtis, who tossed 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball, picked up the win in relief.

Travis Grimm had the big bat for Fruitport with two singles and three RBI.

Andrew Slocum scored twice for the Trojans.

The Norse (0-1) outhit the Trojans 8-6 with Ryan Compeau, Ben Gautraud and Brody Scott all collecting doubles.

Scott added a single to his two-hit day while Stephen Pallante had two singles and scored two runs. Compeau also scored a run for NM.

Muskegon Catholic 11, Holton 0: Alex Lewandoski had four hits and Jacob Holt had three to lead the Crusaders. Adam Callow, Anthony Woodard and Dominic Woodard had two hits each for MCC. Zach Huston earned the pitching win for the Crusaders.

Kent City 6, Godwin Heights 4: Kent City scored two runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed. Winning pitcher Randy Thompson allowed five hits and fanned 12 for the Eagles. KJ Herremans had two hits and two RBIs for Kent City, while Kyle Boyd, Luke Scheuneman, Jayson Ellicott and Jake Krueger all had two hits each for Kent City.

Coopersville 14, Spring Lake 12: The Broncos outslugged the Lakers. Dillon Groover and Mark Williamson had three hits each to lead the Lakers and Groover knocked in three runs and Williamson two.
