The Muskegon Community College Jayhawks split a doubleheader with Delta Community College Saturday afternoon, losing the opener 2-1 but rebounding to win the nightcap 4-3.

With the split, MCC holds on to its two-game lead in the Western Conference of the Michigan Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAA).

The Jayhawks could manage just two hits in the opener.

MCC avoided the sweep in the night cap when Stephon Chandonnet threw out the tying run to end the game.

Kory Brown, Chandonnet and Jason Ribecky each had two hits for the Jayhawks.

MCC is now 27-14 overall and 14-4 in league play.
