Muskegon Community College baseball coach Cap Pohlman collected his 499th and 500th career victories Thursday as his Jayhawks swept a doubleheader from Lake Michigan College, 5-3 and 13-11.

Pohlman is managing his 16th season at MCC.

Pitcher Nick Zeller tossed a complete game victory in game 1, scattering four hits while striking out nine. Patrick Giddings had two hits and Reid Beffrey knocked in two runs for the Jayhawks.

In the nightcap, Josh Wieten collected two hits, including a three-run homer, and knocked in five runs for MCC. Relief pitcher Zach Courtade got the final four outs to preserve the victory in the high scoring contest.

Giddings, Jason Ribecky and Jake Wagenmaker each added two hits for MCC.

The Jayhawks improved to 26-13 overall and 13-3 in conference play. They play Delta College on Saturday.
