The West Michigan Lake Hawks will have a familiar face in the ABA’s upcoming all-star game in Kansas City. Will Wright will represent the Hawks after being nominated by coaches around the league.

From Saginaw, the 6-5 Wright helped lead West Michigan to a near playoff berth in his team’s inaugural season. Wright averaged a solid 19.9 points a game, 7.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2 steals.

“As a first-year organization, I’m very proud to have one of our guys chosen to represent the ABA,” said coach Ronald Jenkins about Wright’s season. “This is a huge honor to the West Michigan lake Hawks organization and Muskegon County.”

The May 3 all-star event will also host a slam dunk contest, an all-star shootout competition and a Special Olympics halftime game.

West Michigan finished 10-5 on the season and fell just short of making the playoffs after a 114-112 loss to Oakland County on a buzzer beater.
