Fruitport split its Lakes 8 baseball double header with Howard City Tri-County on Thursday. The Trojans won Game 1 6-2 but fell 4-3 in the nightcap.

Travis Grimm picked up the Game 1 win on 4 1/3 innings pitched with three strikeouts and four hits.

Andrew Slocum posted a pair of hits and Austin Curtis had a single and two steals for Fruitport.

In Game 2, Mitchell Reyes had three hits while Grim and Kyle Flalek had two hits apiece for Fruitport (16-13, 9-3).

Montague 8-5, Muskegon 5-0: Jacob Buchberger had three hits and three RBI led Montague in Game 1. Cameron Braymand had a single and an RBI while Chayce Lohman had three runs for the Wildcats. Cody Gjertsen and Chris Carrol each had singles for Montague. Muskegon’s Vicai Atkins had three-run double and Mark Edens had a double. Bryce Raeth posted the Game 1 win for Montague. In Game 2, Monatue scored two runs in the first, another in the second and two more in the third to shut out the Big Reds. Buchberger had two hits to lead the Wildcats.

Reeths-Puffer 7, Mona shores 5: The Rockets held on to win the game that was suspended back on May 1. Trevor Mosher was the winning pitcher, giving up three hits and two run with six strikeouts. Matt Hoover had two doubles while Tyler Moss and Jake Balkema had two hits apiece for Reeths-puffer (13-10, 7-8).
