The Grand Haven softball team defeated Whitehall, Ludington, and Montague on Saturday to win the 2014 White Lake Invitational.

In the championship game, the Buccaneers overcame a 2-1 deficit with a three-run homer by Kaylee Hartwell in the second inning, which led to a 7-5 victory over Montague.

The Buccaneers cruised to a 16-1 victory over Ludington in the semifinal game behind a one-hit pitching performance by Kylie Masko.

In the first game of the day the Buccaneers jumped out to a 5-0 lead over Whitehall, watched the Vikings fight back to tie the game 5-5, then scored the winning run on a walk-off Whitehall error.

Kaylee Hartwell had five hits, four runs, and five RBIs throughout the tournament for Grand Haven. Mikayla Gronback also had a five hit day, which included three doubles and a triple, while scoring four runs. Kylie Masko and Audrey Boersen each added four hits.
