The Montague baseball team overcame a one-run deficit by scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth en route to a 6-5  victory over North Muskegon Monday in West Michigan Conference action.

The Wildcats (8-15, 3-7) trailed 5-4 in the sixth when Abram Erickson’s sacrifice fly scored Dylan Stever with the tying run and moved Chris Carroll to third base. Carroll then scored what would prove to be the winning run on a wild pitch.

Jacob Buchberger powered Montague with two triples and two RBIs. Chayse Lohman and Isaac Atkins each had singles and scored two runs, while Lohman got the win on the mound.

North Muskegon won the second game of the doubleheader, 6-2.

The Norse broke open a 1-1 tie by scoring two runs in the fourth inning and three in the fifth.

Reese McCamant had two hits and scored a run for North Muskegon while Ben Gautraud hit a double. Jesse Dunn got the win on the mound for North Muskegon.

The second game did not count in league standings.

Western Michigan Christian 8, Ravenna 2: The Warriors delivered 11 hits on the day and were led by Logan Waller with three hits. Coleman Brott had two htis and two RBI and Cm Waller  had two hits for WMC. Brandon Butrick had a RBI-double and Ben Mast hit an RBI-single for WMC. Matt VanderPloeg allowed three Ravenna hits and struck out two in the win.
