Oakridge advanced past the first round the West Michigan Conference soccer tournament on Wednesday with a 6-0 win over Shelby.

The Eagles led 5-0 by halftime as Shelbe Wilde tallied the first two goals of her hat trick to put her team up 2-0. Aliza Olsen followed with a goal of her own on a Wilde assist. Summer Messerchmidt snuck in a goal with five minutes left in the half and Brandy Weaver added a goal on a PK with a minute left.

“We had a solid first half with some really good movement off the ball and good connectiosn with out passes,” said Oakridge coach Jeffery Lohman. “We lost our focus in the second half and we will need to string together a solid 80 minutes of soccer against Ludington on Friday.”

Micky Wall posted the shutout in goal for Oakridge with one saves. The Eagles outshot Shelby 11-1.
