Western Michigan Christian’ Jessica Kinnucan tallied a hat trick to lead the Warriors to an 8-0 Division 4 district soccer win over Pentwater on Tuesday.

WMC (15-1-1) advances to play North Muskegon in the semifinals at 6 p.m Thursday. That game will be played at WMC’s Warrior Field.

Kinnucan scored her three goals in the first 6:40 of the game.

Tuesday’s game ended at halftime due to the mercy rule.

Alexys Riksen added a pair of gaols for WMC and Sarah Hughes, Shelby Lile and Alyssa Wright added single tallies.

“Pentwater is developing a program and their coach does a great job of keeping the players patient and positive as they put the pieces together,” WMC coach David Hulings said. “I did that myself 20 plus years ago so I understand what it takes. Most of the girls we played were in eighth grade so it will be awhile before the team is ready to compete at our level. But, these games are part of that development. We have much work to do now as North Muskegon would like to come into our house and end our season.”
