SPRING LAKE — Michigan State University golfer Jenny Sritragul pulled away to a 6 and 5 victory Thursday in the championship match of the 93rd running of the Spring Lake Women’s Invitational Golf Tournament.

Defending champion Britni Gielow turned back by Sritragul in the championship match on the 11th hole of a course shortened to 13 holes because of standing water from Wednesday’s rain storms.

Sritragul advanced to the finals by beating Maureen Whitehead, of Petoskey Bay View Golf Club while Gielow had turned back Susan Campbell, of Kalamazoo’s Milham Park Golf Course in the semifinals.

The Bangkok, Thailand native Sritragul, had played only one tournament this past season because of rehab from a non-golf related injury. She is a two-time letter-winner at MSU.
