MUSKEGON — Muskegon Community College’s cross country team will host its third-annual Jayhawk Team Challenge 5K fundraiser at McGraft Park on July 31.

The cross country race is open to all ages with teams consisting of three runners. Individuals can elect to run alone or form a team at the event. The age brackets are 0-51 years; 52-123 years; 124-162 years; 163-183 years; and more than 182 years.

MCC uses the Muskegon High School cross country course at McGraft (2204 Wickham Drive, Muskegon 49441) which has a 2 1/4-loop on a relatively flat layout with two hills and several turns.

Individual course records are 15:43 by former Mason County Central star Chase Barnett and 18:45 by former Spring Lake runner Ali Wiersma.

Entry fees mailed by July 23 are $45 per team or $15 for each individual. Postmarked entries after July 23rd are $60 per team and $20 per individual.

Start time is set for 6:30 p.m. and awards will be presented to the top male, female and coed teams. Each age division will also sport awards for top honors.
