The Grand Haven boys cross country team took first place in the Kenowa Hills Cross Country Invitational Thursday with 79 points in the Black Division 5000 meter run.

Grand Haven Freshman Nicholson Jack took third place individually with a time of 16:50.55. Austin Sargent, a senior out of Cedar Springs, took first place with a time of 16:31.20.

In the Gold 5000 meter run, the Fremont boys cross country team took first place with 54 points. Spring Lake took seventh place with 126 points while Oakridge took eighth with 246 points.

Fremont sophomore Matthew Zerfas took first place individually with a time of 16:38.82. Sophomore Sam Kaastra took fourth place for Fremont with a time of 17:08.70, while yet another Packer sophomore,  Cole Hamilton,finished in seventh with a time of 17:36.76.
