John Potter saw some significant playing time in his first preseason game with the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. The Grand Haven High School grad lifted Miami to a 20-14 win over Tampa Bay with two deep field goals from 51 and 48 yards out and he also converted on a pair of extra points.
Miami looked to Potter after kicker Caleb Sturgis aggravated a previous groin injury early in the game.
The first field goal on the day for Potter came in the first quarter from 48 yards to put Miami up 3-0. His second three pointer came in the third quarter to give Miami some breathing room, 20-7.
Potter just recently came to Miami after playing last season in Washington and his rookie season for the Buffalo Bills.
