The Ludington Orioles struggled on offense and fell to Manistee 27-7 in their season opener.

Manistee jumped out to a 15-0 lead after the first quarter and led 21-7 at halftime. Another fourth quarter touchdown gave Manistee the 27-7 final.

“The defense dominated us and it was a mismatch for us tonight,” Ludington coach Charlie Gunsell said. “We couldn’t get anything going offensively.”

Taylor Follrath scored on a 14-yard reverse on a 38-yard drive. Follrath racked up 69 yards on 9 carries. On the defensive side of the ball, Noah Dobrewski collected 11 tackles and a sack.
