USA Today High School Sports has opened up a vote over the next seven days for the best boys sports program in the country. Muskegon High School is listed as one of five possible schools to be voted for out of Michigan.

Over the last 10 years, Muskegon has won 104 football games with three football state championships and a boys basketball state championship this past season. Add in back-to-back state final appearances in football the last two seasons, it’s understandable why the Big Reds would be selected.

“I got a phone call today and they (USA Today) we’re telling us about the contest,” said Muskegon High School Athletic Director Keith Guy. “I’m excited because this has been one of our goals. We wanted to be recognized state wide as well as nationally.

“To be recognized like this is humbling and a blessing, it’s great.” said Guy. “Our community has a chance to pull together and get as many people as possible to vote for us and show the country what we have here in Muskegon.”

But time is running out. Place your vote right now and show your support for the Muskegon Big Reds.
