Whitehall native Nate McLouth has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Washington Nationals after undergoing an MRI to determine the cause of a right shoulder problem.

The shoulder issue had been kept out of the media until Monday. McLouth most likely hurt his shoulder on a diving catch against Miami on July 28th, according to published reports.

The Nationals have recalled outfield prospect Steven Souza Jr. from Syracuse to take McLouth’s spot on the roster.
