“He had a very nice game for the first game of the year,” Whitehall head coach Tony Sigmon said. “I thought he did a good job for us at quarterback. He allows us to do a lot of things offensively. He got a lot of different kids involved on the option offense.”

Trip Thommen led Whitehall with 84 yards on 16 carries. Keenan Aylor scored four touchdowns, three through the air and one on the ground. His touchdowns included a 61-yard TD run and a 69-yard TD catch. Jwan Britton carried the ball 10 times for 50 yards and Nolan Throne hauled in a 93-yard touchdown catch. Cheston Manns had three receptions for 60 yards.

Gunnar Lamb had 4.5 tackles and Austin Hite tallied three tackles for loss to lead the defense.

“Huge win for us,” Sigmon said. “Great feeling for us after leaving camp and all the work and getting the first win off our chest. Big for us to give us momentum going into Shelby next week.”
