The Muskegon Community College men’s soccer team had a tough time at last weekend’s Ohio Northern University Invitational in Ada, Ohio, dropping a 9-0 decision to the host team on Friday and a 5-1 decision to John Carroll University on Saturday.

In Friday’s game, the host Polar Bears proved to be hard to handle, using their size, speed, and technical skills to outduel the Jayhawks. Center backs Aaron Dault and Cody Loss played tough for MCC, but the Jayhawks could not overcome a 30-10 shot deficit.

Goalkeeper Jacob Berens had seven saves for MCC.

Saturday’s game started better, with the Jayhawks grabbing a 1-0 lead on a goal by Charlie Wick, who scored off a pass from Brandon Edwards. But the Blue Streaks followed with five unanswered goals, putting the game out of reach.
