A lethal ground attack helped Ravenna coast to a 63-6 victory over the Hart Pirates on Friday.

The Bulldogs improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the West Michigan Conference entering Friday’s showdown against rival Oakridge.

Ravenna’s offense got a number of contributors and it thrived on the ground, running for six touchdowns.

Gabe Zimmer led the way with 98 yards and three scores. Dakota Hudson had just two carries, but both went for 62 yard touchdowns. Justin Jones had nine carries for 51 yards and three scores as well.

Alex Sokolowski and Blake Hammond tallied nine and eight tackles respectively, to pace the Ravenna defense. Bronson Leutzinger also recorded six tackles.

Hart’s lone touchdown came on a 1-yard touchdown run by Brett Bonstell. Brady Tate ran for 95 yards on 12 rushes to lead the Pirates offensively.

Alfredo Oliveros and Daniel Farias led the Hart defense with eight and seven tackles each.

Hart (1-3) returns to action next week against neighboring rival Shelby.
