Bryant Rebone’s second half goal lifted Fruitport to a 2-1 win over host Cedar Springs in non-league boys soccer on Monday.

JD Lory’s long clearing kick set up Rebone for the breakaway.

Fruitport took a 1-0 lead after Zack Shane scored a breakaway goal late in the first half. Noah Hendricks posted the assist on the play. The Trojans let in a Cedar Springs goal just 40 seconds later and took a 1-1 tie into halftime.

Conner Deneen posted five saves in goal for Fruitport as the Trojans outshot Cedar Springs 9-8.

Logan Fielding, Bryant (Rebone) and JD (Lory) really stood out today, playing their best games of the season,” said Fruitport coach Greg Kobylak. “Cedar Springs is improving each week. This was our first game on turf all season. We had a hard time today.”

The Trojans play their last Lakes 8 Conference game of the season against Muskegon Catholic on Tuesday.
