The Whitehall boys soccer team season came to a disappointing end Wednesday in a 3-2 shootout loss to Ludington in a Division 3 district semifinal game.

The Vikings, champions of the West Michigan Conference, erased a 1-0 halftime deficit with goals by Patrick Johnson and Robbie Johnson. But Ludington added another goal to force overtime. Dylan Hanson and David Ridder scored the goals for Ludington.

The two 10-minute overtime periods were scoreless. Ludington finally sealed the victory by outscoring Whitehall 4-3 in the shootout.

Ludington will face Oakridge Saturday in the district title game in Manistee.

Oakridge 4, Manistee 3 (OT) Mads Lauridsen scored two goals to lead the Eagles to the Division 3 district finals. Travis Lucas and Cruz Rodriguez each added a goal, while goalkeeper Derek Kahler stopped 10 of 13 shots. The Eagles will play Ludington for the district championship on Saturday afternoon.
