The Montague Wildcats nearly took the final game of the season, but fell to Fremont after a wild fourth quarter comeback, 46-36.

After scoring 28 points in the first quarter and gaining a 36-20 lead at halftime, the Wildcats were looking for the win.

The Packers had a different story in mind. The Packers slammed home 26 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Fremont’s Christian Wade had 199 yards as well as two touchdowns in the air, while grinding out 72 yards on 11 carries with a touchdown on the ground. Walker Christoffersen added 101 yards rushing with a touchdown, and 74 yards receiving with a touchdown.

Wildcat quarterback Jacob Buchberger had 103 yards passing and one touchdown to go with 67 yards on the ground. Brendan Wemple ran for 132 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns.

Montague falls to 2-7 on the season. Fremont improved  to 4-5.
