Conner Gannon scored the second of his two goals with just over two minutes remaining in the game, giving North Muskegon a dramatic 3-2 victory over Muskegon Catholic in a Division 4 soccer district tournament championship game in Hart.

The victory avenged a Norse loss to the Crusaders in last year’s district final. North Muskegon moves on to next week’s regional semifinal round.

The Norse took a 2-0 lead early in the contest with goals by Gannon and Justice Sikkema.

Muskegon Catholic pulled within one on a first-half goal by Erik VanFossen, then tied the score in the second half with a tally by Dui Nguyen.

That led to Gagnon’s winning goal, which came on a breakaway. Gannon tallied 11 goals in the three-game district tournament
