The Muskegon Catholic Crusaders continued their domination of Lakes 8 Conference oppenents, and officially qualified for the state football playoffs, by pounding host Fremont 55-7 on Friday.

The Crusaders (6-0 overall, 4-0 in the conference), rang up a whopping 577 yards in total offense, including 499 yards with their powerful ground game. Fremont managed only 153 yards in total offense.

Tommy Scott led the MCC attack with seven carries for 198 yards and three touchdowns. Blake Sanford added 153 yards and two touchdowns on only four carries.

The Crusaders collected first half touchdowns from Sanford on a 52-yard run, Scott on a 58-yard run, Nick Holt on a 10-yard scamper, Sanford on a 77-yard burst and Scott on a 35-yard run.

The visitors led 28-0 at halftime.

MCC added three more touchdowns in the second half with a 70-yard run by Scott, a 50-yard scoring pass from Holt to Sanford and a 45-yard run by Brody Kieft.

Fremont (1-5 overall, 0-4 in the league) got its only score with a 42-yard touchdown run by Walker Christoffersen, who ended up with 67 yards rushing.
