Now Oakridge can focus on its showdown next week with Whitehall, with the Western Michigan Conference lead on the line.

The Eagles set up the big game with the Vikings by easily defeating defending league champion Shelby Friday, 42-8.

Oakridge improved to 5-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

Quarterback Brady Luttrull led the way for Oakridge, completing 9 of 14 passes for 142 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Kolin Chahorski continued his string of big nights, rushing 19 times for 187 yards and one touchdown.

Oakridge outgained Shelby 377-147 in total yards and 27-10 in first downs.

The Eagles got first half touchdowns with a one-yard run by Billy Drummond, a 47-yard pass from Luttrull to Jaegar Beattie, a one-yard run by Chahorski and a 31-yard scoring strike from Luttrull to Nate Wahr.

Oakridge contined its dominance in the second half with a 14-yard touchdown throw from Luttrull to Chahorski and a three-yard scoring pass from Luttrull to Wahr.

Shelby scored the final touchdown with a two-yard run by Juan Cavazos with 41 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Cavazos finished with 67 yards rushing for Shelby, which fell to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
