The Spring Lake Lakers kept their playoff hopes alive Friday night by defeating unbeaten Climax-Scotts 28-0.

Spring Lake is 5-3 overall and can clinch a playoff spot with a win next week against Shelby.

Noah Kovakoski opened the scoring with a 54-yard touchdown run one play after recovering a fumble for the Lakers.

Jacob Frederick scored from 3 yards out with 2:49 left in the first quarter giving the Lakers a 14-0 lead.

Frederick scored his second touchdown with 11:32 left in the fourth quarter from 4 yards out to give the Lakers a 21-0 lead.

The game scoring closed with Frederick’s third touchdown, an 11-yard run with 8:14 remaining.
