Justin Abdelkader’s overtime goal capped off an incredible 4-3 Red Wing comeback win over Pittsburgh at the Joe Louis Arena on Thursday. The Mona Shores grad found the goal after Henrik Zetterberg deflected a pass that drifted right to Abdelkader in front of the net.
The Red Wings reversed a two goal deficit in the final three minutes of regulation to tie the score, 3-3.
Detroit fell behind 2-0 early in the first period and 3-1 late in the third. But after a Zetterberg goal with 2:39 left, Detroit pulled goaltender Jimmy Howard.
The man-advantage proved enough two minutes later for Detroit when Niklas Kronwall scored with just 39 seconds left in regulation.
