The Ravenna volleyball team is a step closer to a Class C regional title.

The Bulldogs swept Laingsburg 3-0 in the regional semifinals on Tuesday in Morley-Stanwood.

“We played solid throughout the evening,” said Ravenna coach Kim Platt, whose team improved to 32-9 on the season. “We served well, had nice shot selection, and played great defense.”

Ravenna won the games by scores of 25-20, 25-10, and 25-16.

Dana Cass led Ravenna with 12 kills. Lindsey Jacobs contributed 31 assists, 12 digs and one ace while  Audrey Hanson had 22 digs.

The Bulldogs will play host Morley-Stanwood for a Class C regional title at 7 p.m. on Thursday night.

Shelby could not overcome a slow offensive start as it fell to Morely-Stanwood in the Class C volleyball regionals. The Tigers fell in three sets, 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.

Leading the Tigers was Sarajane Fortier with 28 assists, 12 services points and one ace while Hannah Debois had 13 kills. McKenna Peters had 12 service points and two aces and Chloe Sillman had 10 kills and a pair of blocks.
