An 8-0 run with eight minutes left helped the Muskegon Community College women’s basketball team down Alpena Community College 80-63 in Port Huron on Saturday.
The Jayhawks had a 65-55 lead with eight minutes remaining before the run secured their victory.
Katie McKinnon led the lady Jayhawks with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Freshmen Kaylie Caverly made her first start and had 16 points along with eight offensive rebounds. Abby Rodriquez added 14 points and five steals for the Jayhawks.
MCC will next play at Hope College Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
