Reiko Johnson hit a 14-footer with a second left on the clock Monday to give the Spring Lake girls basketball team a 52-50 victory over Cedar Springs in non-league action.

The victory kept the Lakers unbeaten with a 5-0 record.

Spring Lake led by two at halftime and opened up a 10-point lead in the the third quarter, but Cedar Springs refused to go away. The hosts hit a 3-pointer with 19 seconds remaining to tie the game at 50-50 before Johnson hit the game winner.

Johnson finished with 20 points, five rebounds and four steals. Kelsee Zuidema added 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks while Olivia Grimmer chipped in nine points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
