The Shelby girls basketball team overcame a 10-point halftime deficit and rallied for a 44-41 victory over Fremont in non-league action on Monday.

The Tigers held Fremont to just 10 second half points.

Chloe Sillman led Shelby with a double-double, 22 points and 10 rebounds. Six of Sillman’s rebounds came on the offensive end while she also had five assists and four steals.

Jenny Beckman scored 10 points and pulled down four rebounds. Deanna Gray chipped in nine points with three steals and Miranda Unger had five assists and three steals.

The Tigers trailed 31-21 at the break but its pressure defense led to 13 steals on the night.
Fremont was led by Bre Harris with 15 points and Emma Abendroth with nine.

Muskegon Catholic 58, Muskegon Heights Academy 48 – The Crusaders poured in 22 first-quarter points and led 36-29 at the break. Zee Harris led MCC with 20 points and 12 rebounds, Lilly Conroy scored 12 points and Meme Hamilton added nine. Hailee McKenna grabbed 11 rebounds and Talia Tyler posted six assists for the Crusaders. Danasia Day scored 20 points and Frandreka Watkins-Oliver scored 10 for the Tigers.

Grand River Prep 75, Fruitport Calvary Christian 47 – The Eagles succumbed to Grand River’s 27 fourth-quarter points. Mariah McCully dropped in a game-high 51 points for the winners. Taylor Richards scored 26 points and Allyson Richards added 17 points for Calvary Christian.
