A big second half sparked the Reeths-Puffer boys basketball team to a 53-38 win over Potters House Tuesday on the final night of the Grand Rapids Catholic holiday basketball tournament.

The Rockets struggled from the floor in the first half and clung to a slim 21-17 lead at the break.

But Jalen Cooley changed things for Reeths-Puffer in the third quarter, draining a pair of 3-pointers in a 12-2 Rocket run. Joey Olsen also hit a deep three in the run. He finished with 16 points while Cooley totaled 12 points.

“We were not making shots,” said Reeths-Puffer coach David Ingles about his team’s first-half effort. “We came out in the third quarter and went on to take control of the game. We shared the ball well in the second half overall and made shots.”

Deandre Oakes-Owens and DeAngelo Williams both had four assists and Tyler MIller had seven rebounds for Reeths-Puffer.
