Both Mona Shores and Grand Rapids Union struggled to get on track Friday night in O-K Black girls basketball action in Grand Rapids.

The game came down to the final seconds, and the Sailors pulled out a 37-36 win.

With two seconds left, GR Union had an opportunity to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat by making their two free throws. They made the first, but missed the second and the Sailors’ Fayth Talbert pulled down the rebound to run out the clock.

Jordan Walker led the Sailors with 15 points.

O-K Red

Grand Haven 46, Grandville 37 – Grand Haven was led by Amanda Merz who had 19 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Lynn Olthof added nine points and dished out four assists.

Lakes 8

Muskegon Catholic 39, Fremont 34Emily Rauch led the Crusaders to victory with 13 points. Katie Parkhurst scored 13 points while Lexie Bradley had eight rebounds for Fremont.

Ludington 50, Fruitport 39 – Fruitport’s Iyana Brown led all scorers with 21 points while hauling in seven rebounds and swatting four blocks. Alyssa Veihl pulled down 16 rebounds for the Trojans. Kristen Reidenbach led Ludington to victory with 10  points.

CSAA

Holton 57, White Cloud 28 – The Red Devils took control of the CSAA conference game by outscoring the Indians 15-3 in the second quarter. Katie Wildfong and Rachel Younts paced Holton (7-2 overall, 2-2 league) with 13 points apiece while Jacki Stone added 10 points, seven assists and five steals.

Alliance League

Fruitport Calvary Christian 73, Byron Center Zion Christian 47 – The Eagles put on a dominating performance in front of a homecoming crowed. Taylor Richards led the way with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Allyson Richards also had 16 points while Hannah Roberts added 15.

Non-league

Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy 55, Muskegon Heights 41 – The Tigers trailed 25-16 at halftime and 41-27 after the third quarter. Frendreka Walkins-Oliver led the Tigers with 11 points while Danasia Day had 10.
