The host Kent City Eagles got off to a quick start with a 16-2 lead after one quarter and 36-11 at the half.

In the end, Kent City had a 66-32 victory over the Western Michigan Christian Warriors in girls basketball action.

Four Eagles scored in double figures, led by Kaitlyn Geers with 15 points. Meghan Boyd added 14 points, followed by Bailey Freeland with 11 and Kendal Carlson with 10. Lindsey Johnson led WMC with 12 points.

Manistee 54 Ludington 34: A slow first quarter did the Orioles in on Tuesday night. They’d find themselves down 16-5 after the quarter and were never able to rebound. The Orioles were led by Brandy Thomas who had nine points. Kaci Kuster and Mikayla Mesyar each had seven points for Ludington. The Orioles are now 7-3 on the season and remain 2-0 in conference play.

Fruitport 42Holland 28 – Iyana Brown scored 24 points and Alyssa Veihl pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Trojans to victory. Martha DenHerder led Holland with 16 points.

Coopersville 55, Orchard View 44 – A 20-7 second quarter proved to be the difference for Coopersville. Sam McCarthy led the Broncos with 26 points, including 12 in the second quarter. A’miya Brown had a game-high 29 points for Orchard View while Jayshonna Blackshire added 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. The Cardinals are now 4-4 on the season.
