Girls hoops 1/3: Spring Lake improves to 6-0 with victory over Whitehall; Shelby falls to Manistee

The Spring Lake girls basketball team improved its record to a perfect 6-0 with an easy 58-20 victory over Whitehall Saturday.

The Lakers took control by outscoring the Vikings 21-0 in the second quarter.

Kelsee Zuidema led Spring Lake with 17 points, 13 rebounds and five steals; Reiko Johnson added 15 points (including four triples), four assists and three steals; while Olivia Grimmer and Emily VanWingen added nine points apiece.

Emily MacArthur paced Whitehall with six points,12 rebounds and four steals.

Manistee 51, Shelby 34 – Shelby was led by Miranda Unger with 11 points in a losing effort. Jenny Beckman added eight points while Chloe Sillman had 10 rebounds.
