Three games in five nights proved to be a bit much for the Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team, which dropped a wild 125-102 decision Wednesday to Lansing Community College.

The nationally ranked Jayhawks saw a six-game win streak come to an end. They dropped to 16-4 overall and 6-4 in conference play.

The Jayhawks were hurt by cold shooting and foul trouble in the early part of the game and trailed by 20 points with 13 minutes left in the first half. They rallied behind the hot shooting of Marcus Tumblin and took the lead by six points, but LCC regrouped and gained a 60-53 halftime edge.

LCC regained its original lead in the second half and cruised to the victory. The hosts gained an edge byu outscoring the Jayhawks 28-18 from the free throw line.

Will Roberson led MCC with 22 points, Eddie Tornes added 20 points (including four triples), Tumblin finished with 18 points and Aaron Sydnor had 17.

MCC will host Lake Michigan Community College Friday at 7:30 p.m.
