The Muskegon Catholic boys basketball team broke open a close game in the third quarter and captured a 58-47 Lakes 8 Conference victory over Orchard View on Saturday.

The Crusaders were down a point just before halftime before Dom Woodard hit a triple to give MCC a two-point lead at  intermission.

MCC opened the third quarter with a 6-0 run and built a decisive 10-point lead by the end of the quarter.

Woodard finished with 11 points, Christian Martinez added nine points and five assists, Savion Thompson had nine points and seven rebounds, while Nate Jones pulled down eight boards for the Crusaders.

Will Burrel tossed in 18 points for Orchard View.
