Muskegon’s Deyonta Davis has been nominated to play in the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Game.
The game is scheduled for April 1 at the United Center in Chicago. The announcement of the 24 participants for that game will be made on Jan. 28.
Davis, a 6-foot-10 post player, is one of more than 800 nominees, including 18 from the state of Michigan.
Davis helped lead the Muskegon Big Reds to a 28-0 record and a Class A state title a year ago. This season, Davis is averaging 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Big Reds, who are ranked No. 3 in Class A. He has signed to play for Michigan State University next season.
Also nominated is Baldwin’s Brandon Childress, a 6-4 guard who is being recruited by numerous Division 1 programs in two sports – basketball and football.
