Three Holton wrestlers turn in strong performances at Ithaca Invitational

Three Holton wrestlers turned in outstanding performances Saturday at the Ithaca Invitational.

In the 145-pound weight class, Hayden Cregg won all three of his matches, pinning Isaiah Gager of Alma in 12 seconds, Matt Hoffman of Meridian Early College in 1:22 and Elijah Luth of Decatur in 2:15.

At 130, Holton’s Jordan Whitener won three of four matches, pinning Isaac Livermore of Grayling in 24 seconds, Brendan Silvernail of Carson City-Crystal in 2:17 and Brandan Avery of Meridian Early College in 2:47.

Whitener won another match by disqualification, and lost to Caleb Wood of Mason County Central.

Brendan Cregg (119) of Holton posted a 2-1 record, pinning Tyler Brinley of Meridian Early College in 51 seconds and defeating Taylor Barkley of Carson City-Crystal 9-3. He lost to Dominic Gardner of Portland 4-1.
