Chloe Sillman hit a bucket and Brooke James made a free throw in the final 90 seconds, giving the Shelby girls basketball team an exciting 45-42 victory over Montague Friday in West Michigan Conference action.

The Wildcats attempted a long pass at the end, but it was intercepted by Shelby’s Jenny Beckman to seal the win for the Tigers.

Sillman led all scorers with 13 points. Chase Jancek scored 10 points for the Wildcats.

North Muskegon 37, Hart 26 – The Norsemen trailed by one after three quarters, then outscored Hart 17-7 in the fourth to earn the win. Olivia Duncan paced North Muskegon with 15 points. Hart’s Yasmine Colon scored 11 points. The Norsemen improved to 2-5 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. Hart is now to 4-6 on the season and 4-4 in the league.

Ravenna 50, Mason County Central 37Courtney Schullo had 15 points and Madison Broton added 13 points for the Bulldogs, who improved to 3-7 overall and 1-6 in conference play. Mason County Central was led by Makila Hodges with 16 points. MCC fell to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the league.

Oakridge 63, Whitehall 35 – Hannah Reinhold scored 26 points to lead the Eagles to victory. Emily MacArthur led Whitehall with 14 points. Oakridge improved to 7-0 in the West Michigan Conference and 8-3 overall. Whitehall is now 1-8 overall and 1-5 in the league.
