The Fruitport girls basketball team grabbed an 11-point halftime lead Friday, then never let Muskegon Catholic get closer than six points en route to a 39-30 non-league victory.

Fruitport improved to 10-8 while MCC dropped to 5-12.

Iyana Brown paced the Trojans to victory with 21 points. Zhane Harris had 14 points for the Crusaders.

Spring Lake 50, Fremont 17 – The undefeated Lakers led 13-2 after the first quarter and 43-10 after the third.  Kelsee Zuidema led the Lakers with 14 points and nine rebounds while Reiko Johnson added 13.

CSAA

Morley-Stanwood 54, Holton 43Mekayla Carey and Lindsay Veersma scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Morley-Stanwood in the league victory. Courtney Slater had 13 points and eight rebounds while Jacki Stone added 10 points for Holton, which fell to 13-5 overall and 4-5 in the conference.
