The Holton girls basketball team earned its 14th victory Monday – a new single season record for the program – with a 52-38 win over Hart in non-league action.

The Red Devils (14-5) used their defense to build a 30-12 halftime lead, then cruised to the victory in the second half.

Jacki Stone had 10 points and five assists for Holton while Rachel Younts also scored 10 points. Yasmine Colon paced Hart with 10 points.

Muskegon 62, Grand Rapids Union 55 – Mardrekia Cook proved to be unstoppable for the Big Reds with 34 points and 24 rebounds. Shawnteanna Dame added 10 points for Muskegon.

Grand Haven 59, Holland West Ottawa 52 – Amanda Merz turned in a strong all-around performance and led the Bucs to the victory. Merz scored 29 points, pulled down nine rebounds, dished out six assists and had seven steals. Sophie Newhouse and Anna Gagnon had 11 points each for the Bucs. Katie Rietberg led West Ottawa with 17 points.

Mona Shores 42, Kenowa Hills 27 – The Sailors (16-3, 7-2) jumped out to a 26-13 halftime lead and never let up. Jordan Walker led Mona Shores with 19 points, eight rebounds and eight steals.

Holland Black River 45, Western Michigan Christian 40 – The Warriors started the game with a 15-7 first-quarter run, but the Rats closed the game on a 16-4 fourth-quarter run to seal the victory.  Alyssa Wright led the Warriors with 11 points in a losing effort.

Fruitport Calvary Christian 71, Mason County Central 47 – The Eagles jumped out to a 16-8 lead after the first quarter and led 50-34 after three quarters.  Taylor Richards led the Eagles with 27 points and 16 rebounds while Allyson Richards and Hannah Roberts each had 17 points.  Jordyn Hamilton had a career-high nine assists as the Eagles improved to 17-2 on the season.
