The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team won its 20th game of the season with a 62-48 win over Ancilla Community College on Saturday.

Aaron Sydnor led the Jayhawks with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Sydnor scored 17 of his points in the second half and shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Eddie Tornes finished with 22 points and seven rebounds.

The Jayhawks struggled from the floor in the first half but its defense stepped up to hold a 26-16 halftime lead.

“Defensively, I was very pleased with our effort,” said MCC coach Dave Schlump, whose team is undefeated at home this season. “We played unselfishly and didn’t force the issue and eventually we got things going.”

Justin Kennedy paced the Jayhawks on the boards with 12 rebounds.

MCC (20-6  overall, 10-6 conference) will finish off the regular season with a game at Jackson Community College today and a matchup with Lansing Community College at home on Wednesday.
