The Oakridge girls basketball team put together four quarters of strong defense to top Hall Road rival Orchard View 48-26 on Tuesday.

The Eagles led 18-15 at halftime but used a 14-2 third quarter edge to take control of the game.

Hannah Reinhold scored 11 of her game-high 23 points for Oakridge in the quarter.

“We were able to find (Hannah) Reinhold around the basket and she was able to finish for us,” said Oakridge coach Terry DeJonge. “She gave us the offense we needed and our defense was really good.”

Oakridge held Orchard View to very few offensive rebounds. The Eagles had 25 defensive rebounds on the night.

“OV played a tough defense the whole game, but we blocked out better in the second half and pulled down the rebounds,” DeJonge said.

Megan Larabee scored 12 points and had three assists for Oakridge and Makenzie Davis pulled down 12 rebounds while Reinhold also had nine rebounds and four assists.

The Cardinals were led by Jayshonna Blackshire with 10 points and A’miya Brown added nine points.

“To contain Blackshire to 10 points is just huge. She was coming off a 35-point game,” DeJonge said. “(A’miya) Brown has had some 20 point games this season too, but it was a tough physical game. We know each other really well, we’re right next door. it’s a great rivalry game.”
