Whitehall slips past Montague in girls basketball, 43-37

The Whitehall girls basketball team took a four point lead at halftime, then hung on to claim a 43-37 victory over rival Montague Monday in West Michigan Conference action.

Emily MacArthur led Whitehall with 16 points and seven rebounds. Payton Bearup added 12 points and four steals while Melissa Shoup grabbed 15 rebounds for the Vikings.

Sydney Stine paced Montague with 11 points and Emma Flagstead had nine rebounds and six blocks.

Whitehall is now 9-9 overall and 7-6 in league play. Montague is 11-8 and 9-5.
