The Muskegon Community College baseball team opened its league schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Lake Michigan College Tuesday by scores of 13-3 and 4-3.

In the opener, Kyle Lawson got the win on the mound. Reid Beffrey collected four hits and five RBI while Parker Richardson added three hits for MCC.

In the nightcap the Jayhawks rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to notch the victory. Damon Proctor was the winning pitcher while Adrian Anderson, Jake Wagenmaker and Robert Spencer each had two hits, including one apiece in the decisive seventh inning.

The Jayhawks, now 11-7 overall and 2-0 in conference play, will visit Henry Ford Community College on Wednesday.
