Kent City’s girls basketball season ended Tuesday with a 33-24 loss to top-ranked Laingsburg in a Class C regional semifinal game at Mason County Central High School.

The Eagles were only able to score five points in the first half and never recovered.

Kent City did manage to pull within two points twice in the second half. But the Eagles could not get over the hump and had to foul at the end, allowing Laingsburg to hit free throws and win by nine.

Meghan Boyd and Bailey Freeland paced Kent City with seven points apiece.

Kent City finished the season with a 19-4 record, a conference title and a Class C district championship.
