The West Michigan Lake Hawks will continue their ABA playoff march Saturday at 3 p.m. when they play the Chicago Steam at South Suburban College in South Holland Illinois.

The teams are among the final 12 in the ABA playoffs, which have a single-elimination format. Both are trying to earn a berth to the league’s championship tournament in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The game will be difficult for the Lake Hawks, who have lost to the Steam the last two times they played them.

“We need to make adjustments on their key shooters and use our inside-out game,” said Lake Hawks Coach Ron Jenkins, whose team won the North Central Division tournament with two wins last weekend. “Defensively, we will be more aggressive and have our transition offense and defense together.

“It’s going to be tough but this is what we have worked for all season.”
