Ludington faced No. 7 ranked Manistee in a Class C girls basketball district final on Friday and fell 52-39.
Manistee’s pressure defense and strong ball control kept Ludington from finding the basket. Ludington trailed 23-17 at halftime and struggled in the third quarter after Manistee’s Audrey Tomaszewki drained three 3-pointers.
“Manistee has good guard play, and they are long and athletic in every position,” said Ludington Coach Thad Shank. “We just weren’t able to keep the pace from the scoring standpoint.”
The Orioles were led by Kali Wahr with 14 points. Brandy Thomas had seven points and eight rebounds, Claire Fleweling scored six points and Ali Plamondon added eight rebounds.
